School Safety

• MVCS coordinates with the D51 Safety and Security office to ensure that students have a safe learning environment on a daily basis. A D51 safety/security officer is assigned to MVCS.

• In accordance with safety requirements, MVCS participates in monthly fire drills to make sure that students and staff are familiar with the process of a safe and quick evacuation. MVCS also practices a lockdown drill with students once each semester.

• MVCS takes student behavior seriously and follows D51 student discipline policies. Students in the MVEP program are reminded to "Be Respectful. Be Responsible. Be Safe." All students are expected to behave considerately, in a way that fosters learning for everyone in the class.
