School Safety

• MVCS coordinates with the D51 Safety and Security office to ensure that students have a safe learning environment on a daily basis. A D51 safety/security officer is assigned to MVCS.

• In accordance with safety requirements, MVCS participates in monthly fire drills to make sure that students and staff are familiar with the process of a safe and quick evacuation. MVCS also practices a lockdown drill with students each year.

• MVCS takes student behavior seriously and follows D51 student discipline policies. Students are reminded to "Be Respectful. Be Responsible. Be Safe." All students are expected to behave considerately, in a way that fosters learning for everyone in the class.
